An Opa-locka police officer who had been fired is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Daniel Kelly, 29, was arrested on September 29 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, Kelly was undergoing a inspection when he told the Customs agent he worked as a police officer in Opa-locka. He showed the agent a badge but didn't have photo credentials, saying "I don't have ID because I am on administrative leave."
The Opa-locka Police Department said Kelly had been fired.
Kelly is charged with Falsely Personating a Law Enforcement Officer.
