Miramar police charged a suspect in a 2010 murder case.

Kevin Thompson was arrested Monday in connection with the murder of Gary McKenzie.

On November 5, 2010, an officer went to McKenzie's home after coworkers reported that McKenzie didn't show up to work at All Stars Barbershop in Miami Gardens and wasn't answering his cell phone. Officers found McKenzie's body inside his home. He had been shot several times and his home was ransacked.

Investigators took DNA swabs from blood samples found at the scene and matched them to Thompson.

Thompson was charged with premeditated murder in the first-degree. He was being held on no bond.
