Live in boyfriend of woman charged with 2-year-old's death in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — The live-in boyfriend of a woman whose daughter died has been charged in the girl's death.

The News-Press reports that 31-year-old Derric Johnson was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated child abuse and negligent homicide.

Two-year-old Brianna Addison was pronounced dead Wednesday. She had been left alone with Johnson while her mother was at work.

The state Department of Children and Families is investigating Brianna's family, and her two siblings have been temporarily removed from the home.
