Miami-Dade police detained a man who made a reference to explosives when he asked another person to hold his bag at Miami International Airport Tuesday afternoon.
James Bahamonde of Miami Beach remains in custody and is facing charges.
The incident happened in the second level of Terminals H-J. Police forced people to evacuate those terminals.
Miami-Dade Police say Bahamonde was at a bar and asked and attendant where the rest room was. The police affidavit says Bahamonde then told her she was responsible for the bag and that their might be a bomb in it. When police officers arrived they say Bahamonte told them he was just kidding.
The Miami-Dade Police Department's bomb squad examined the bag and determined there was no explosive device,
Police allowed people back into those terminals about 30 minutes later.
