Man donates $500 to school after burglary

Man breaks into St. Michael's School in Miami, steals $3,000

MIAMI ā€“ A lobbyist donated $500 to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School and challenges others to do the same after surveillance cameras captured a burglar stealing $3,000 from a classroom.

Bob Levy made the donation Friday.

"Hopefully five other individuals or companies will agree to match my donation," said Levy in an e-mail to the Director of Communications for the Archdiocese of Miami Mary Ross Agosta.

"Mr. Levy and his associates wanted the Christmas and holiday season to be a joyful one for St. Michael's students, and we are grateful for his donation," said Agosta.

The burglary happened between 7 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

Cameras captured photos of the burglar. He broke into a classroom and a portable classroom, ransacking both, said police.
