Fort Myers man guilty in fatal drug deal; faces life in prison
A Fort Myers man has been found guilty for his part in a fatal drug deal.
A Lee County jury found 23-year-old Dustin McIntyre guilty Tuesday of two counts of second-degree murder. He faces life in prison.
Authorities say McIntyre and several accomplices beat and strangled 24-year-old Daniel Leonor and 20-year-old Israel Ponce in August 2010. Their charred bodies were later discovered in a burning SUV.
Lisandro Resendiz pleaded guilty in October to manslaughter and arson. The 23-year-old faces 30 years in prison. Also, 22-year-old Cotton Lance faces up to 15 years in prison after previously pleading guilty to accessory after the fact and battery causing bodily harm.
Resendiz and Lance are schedule to be sentenced March 11.
