Man steals gas station's cash register
Police search for armed robber
North Miami police are searching for a man who stole a cash register from a gas station Sunday.
The attendant at the Chevron gas station at 13005 Biscayne Blvd. told police that a man wearing a camouflage jacket robbed him at gunpoint about 10:30 p.m.
The employee threw whatever was on the counter at the robber in an attempt to stop him, and they struggled for several minutes.
The robber escaped with the cash register and $700, police said. A witness said he got into a black or gray compact car and sped away.
No injuries were reported.
The gas station has reopened.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
