HIALEAH, Fla. -

Police in Hialeah are looking for a man who, they said, shot at officers at a motel.

Andy Roman is wanted on a warrant of attempted murder of a police officer.

According to investigators, on Saturday at the Crossway Motel on W. Okee Road, Roman shot at officers who were investigating an earlier shooting.

Police then chased Roman and Osmano Ojeda to the area of Northwest 6th Avenue and 45th Street. Along the way, detectives said the suspects continued to shoot at the pursuing police vehicles with an AK-47 type assault rifle and a submachine gun, both of which were recovered by police. No officers were injured.

Ojeda, 22, was later caught. He faces several charges, including attempted murder of a police officer, and was being held on no bond.

On Tuesday, Hialeah police showed one of its cars with several bullet holes in the windshield.

Roman is considered armed and dangerous. Detective believe Roman has since shaved his head bald.

"This guy loves weapons. There's no reason to believe that he cannot easily acquire another weapon, and he's obviously showed propensity to use it in a very reckless fashion, so we consider him to be armed and dangerous," said Carl Zogby with the Hialeah Police Department.

Anyone with information about Roman's whereabouts is asked to call Hialeah police at 305-687-2525 or Crime Stoppers at 305-471-3477.
