In just one month, travelers will be able to ride the Metrorail from southern Miami-Dade County to Miami International Airport.
Passengers can start their journey at the Dadeland South station and head north on the Orange Line as it parallels U.S. 1 and Interstate 95 all the way to the Earlington Heights station, then stay on the Orange Line as it goes south and lets them off at the MIC station.
Local 10's Sasha Andrade took the entire trip, which lasted 37 minutes and 40 seconds in her case.
From there, passengers have to walk 50 yards to board the MIA Mover for a 2 1/2-minute ride to the airport.
Each train will be retrofitted to accommodate luggage. During peak hours, the trains will arrive every five minutes. And, it will only cost $2 to ride.
The AirportLink will open July 28.
