MIAMI -

Miami-Dade county has improved credit according to Mayor Carlos Gimenez.

Mayor Gimenez announced on Monday that Standard and Poor's Financial Services changed the county's outlook from "negative" to "stable."

According to the report provided by S&P, the improved credit outlook is attributed to the county's improved financial position over the past two years, and cost-cutting measures by the current administration.

These moves included reducing the number of departments from 44 to 25 and eliminating vacant jobs.
