MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -

The Miami International Auto Show turned heads and attracted thousands of car connoisseurs at the Miami Beach Convention Center Saturday.

"It's really neat. They've got some really good cars. I can see that the American cars have come a long way and they're competing with the European and Japanese cars," a car enthusiast said.

"You get to see the new vehicles, the new styles, [and] prices," said one person.

Eco Experience, the main exhibit at the show, was created to educate consumers on renewable energy and alternative fuel vehicles.

The event is expected to draw nearly 650,000 people and is the season's first major U.S. auto exhibition.

The show debuted Friday and will run until Nov. 18.
