Miami man heads to CrossFit Games

There has been an ongoing competition the past few months to find the fittest man and woman on earth.

The search has been worldwide and now the pool of athletes has been narrowed down, and one South Florida man is the first person from the area to ever make it this far.

Guido Trinidad is training hard ahead of the CrossFit Games next month.

Guido started CrossFit three years ago. He was inspired after seeing the movie 300.

The life-long athlete wanted to get into the best shape of his life, so he started training and started competing shortly after.

Guido went up against 59 other top athletes from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina in the regional games and placed in the top three, meaning this year he's going to the games, becoming the first athlete from Miami to do so.

"I have an opportunity that only 50 men across the world have and thousands want to be there, so I really just want to seize it all soak it all up... do as best as I can and have fun," said Guido.

He has no idea which workouts he'll have to do in the final round out in California, but said he's hoping for lots of overhead exercises.
