Miramar residents can attend Citizens’ Police Academy

MIRAMAR, Fla. -

People who live in Miramar and are interested in police work can sign up for the Citizens’ Police Academy.

The Miramar Police Department announced that the 14-week academy will run Feb. 12 through May 14.

Classes will meet every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

The department said class topics include: DUI enforcement, economic crimes, burglary investigations, juvenile and child abuse investigations, and the role of the Medical Examiner office.

The department said space is limited, so sign up early.
