MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -

Miami Gardens police say an 11-year-old girl who went missing Wednesday was found in Hollywood overnight.

Just after midnight Friday, cops tracked Melaine Sharp Ubiera to a house off Sherman Street in Hollywood. Police then arrested 16-year-old Michael Wendel, a teen found with her, who they suspect knew she was missing and did nothing. Detectives said Ubiera and Wendel met through an online video game community.

"We didn't get much sleep," said Cildo Chavez, Ubiera's stepfather.

Ubiera had last been seen at her home along NW 43rd Ct. and 178th Dr. about 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Her grandfather said he thought he caught her trying to sneak out of their Miami Gardens home on Tuesday night, but when he went back to bed, he didn't think any more of it until she was gone Wednesday morning.

The girl's brother told Local 10 she said she wanted to run away.

The FBI got leads from Melanie's computer, phone and game console. Her stepdad said it appeared she wasn't in danger and wanted a bit of freedom.

"She said she was happy. I explained to her she has to be a kid first," said Chavez.

Ubiera has been reunited with her family.
