Multiple arrested, accused of possessing illegal gambling machine

Police say 10 gambling machines confiscated from 6 people

MIAMI – Miami police say six people have been arrested in regards to 10 gambling machines that were confiscated as a result of an operation that took place on Thursday.

According to the arrest affidavits released by the Miami Police Department, Guillermo Schloeler, Martin Fernandez, Joao Fernandes, Ayman Jadallah, Maiek Brouri and Justo Lopez were arrested Thursday for possession of illegal gambling machines.

Police said Schloeler possessed an illegal slot machine at the Sunflex Fuel gas station, located at 1599 W. Flagler Street in Miami.

Martin Fernandez had a gambling machine at the Laundro Mat at 1019 SW 8th Street. Joao Fernandes is accused of owning two illegal slot machines at the Marathon gas station at 1699 SW 8th Street, according to the affidavit.

Police said Jadallah also had a slot machine in plain sight at his business, the 5th Avenue Supermarket. Brouri had three illegal slot machines in oiperation at the Food Mini Market, located at 1843 NW 2nd Street, said police.

Finally, police said a slot machine was found in plain sight at the Loft Cafeteria on 132 NE 2nd Avenue.
