State Leaders packed inside the National Hurricane Center Friday morning to get the word out about Tropical Storm Isaac.
"The threat is out there and preparation is key," said National Hurricane Center Director Dr. Rick Knabb.
"Please don't wait until the last minute to prepare," said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Wasserman Schultz wants people to prepare even though the storm still a couple days out. If it hits, strong winds and heavy rains could cause significant damage.
"It has strengthened since yesterday. It is in an environment where the atmospheric wind sheer is not there to tear it apart," Knabb said.
It's been seven years since a hurricane hit South Florida, but state leaders and storm experts just want South Floridians to be ready for the worst.
"If everyone is scrambling just before the storm, the lines will be very long - potentially people put themselves in danger," said Wasserman Schultz.
