DELTONA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a neighbor of a missing central Florida limo driver confessed to killing him and has been charged with murder.
Volusia County Sheriff's officials said Tuesday that 40-year-old Angela Stoldt was taken to the hospital over the weekend for a mental evaluation after relatives called 911. Relatives told deputies she had made suicidal statements and told them she killed James Sheaffer.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports Stoldt initially refused to speak to detectives. Investigators obtained a search warrant and found evidence of the crime inside her home. Then later Sunday, Stoldt contacted deputies and confessed.
Sheaffer went missing April 3 when he was last seen getting into a truck driven by someone else after returning from a job. He didn't return to work for his next assignment.
