Incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is kicking off a cross-state tour for his re-election campaign with a Sanford appearance alongside singer Jimmy Buffett.
Nelson and Buffett are appearing together Friday afternoon at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport.
The Florida Democrat goes into the remaining weeks of the campaign with a significant money advantage over his Republican opponent, U.S. Rep. Connie Mack.
Nelson has raised $10 million to Mack's $3.3 million, as of the end of September.
The Sanford appearance kicks off a statewide tour that will run from the Panhandle to South Florida.
