New Jungle Island resident
Rare cats call Miami home
A pair of Canadian Lynx are joining the jungle family in Miami.
These cats arrived at Jungle Island in April. They're located near the leopards, which are also new to the park.
Jungle Island officials say the Canadian Lynx are found from Alaska across Canada and into many of the northern states. The cats stand about 20 inches tall and weigh about between 25 to 30 pounds -- scarcely more than a large house cat.
They have long, black ear tufts. Also unique is their short, black-tipped tail and large, rounded feet with furry pads.
The attraction already houses some of the world's most incredible animals, including a set of orangutan twins, a tiger and a cassowary.
