New Port Richey police officer arrested in Hernando County on drug, evidence tampering charges
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a 13-year veteran of the New Port Richey police department has been arrested on drug charges.
John Nohejl was arrested Thursday in Hernando County. He was charged with trafficking in hydrocodone, possession of cocaine, fleeing to elude, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of two driver's licenses.
He is being held at the Hernando County Jail on $110,500 bond. It is not yet know whether he has retained an attorney.
Nohejl was stopped in a vehicle Thursday and arrested.
He has been on paid administrative leave since April of 2012, when his police chief ordered two internal investigations on Nohejl.
