No charges for UPS driver who crashed into Biscayne Bay
UPS driver told police brakes malfunctioned
A UPS truck who crashed into Biscayne Bay in June will not be charged.
Miami Shores police said the driver reported the brakes malfunctioned, causing him to hit a tree and then go right into the water on 96th Street.
"I heard this giant crash. (I) came out here and went out and there's a UPS truck floating in the middle of the bay," a witness said. "There's no rubber on the road. There's no screech marks in the grass. You don't have to be a police officer to see that."
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said no injuries were reported. The driver crawled out of the truck and made it to shore through the shallow water.
