PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) — A north Florida man faces murder charges after his 72-year-old landlord was killed in a dispute over rent and living arrangements.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/18IIjIz ) reports deputies believe 42-year-old Erick Niemi killed Leonard Lynn on Wednesday.
Lynn's family became suspicious Saturday after being unable to reach him. They called Flagler County Sheriff's deputies who went to Lynn's home. They were unable to make contact with anyone and noted no signs of forced entry.
Relatives arrived later Saturday and saw blood on the floor. They called deputies, who found Lynn's body in the bedroom.
Neighbors told deputies they'd seen Niemi at the home. Lynn's minivan was found parked in front of Niemi's home a few blocks away and he was arrested.
Niemi was being held in jail early Monday.
