One killed, lanes shut down in overnight crashes

Two separate crashes occurred miles apart Friday

This SUV was involved in a fatal crash that occurred on the Dolphin Expressway early Friday morning.

WEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla – A person was killed during one of two car crashes on the Dolphin Expressway early Friday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says the fatal crash happened on the westbound lanes of SR 836 at Northwest 57th Avenue.

All westbound lanes were shut down after the crash, and traffic was being diverted off the LeJeune Road exit. Two lanes has since been reopened.

FHP says a passenger car rear-ended a dump truck. The passenger in the dump truck died.

A few miles away from the deadly crash, four cars were involved in a collision. This crashed happened between Northwest 37th and 42nd avenues.

FHP says a driver got out of his car and was struck. According to troopers, he is conscious, and is being taken to the hospital.
