HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. -

The door to a Canadair jet was found in the middle of a Hallandale Beach golf course after the flight was diverted to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

The FAA said the Canadair CL60 jet took off from Opa-Locka Airport, headed for Pompano Beach when the door fell off the plane.

It was diverted to Fort Lauderdale and landed safely at 4:10 p.m.

The plane was taken to Bombardier Aviation, a maintenance facility, where officials noticed the main cabin door was missing. It was later found on the Diplomat Golf Course in Hallandale Beach.

No one on the plane or on the ground was injured.

The FAA is investigating the matter.
