MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police in Miami Beach confirmed Wednesday evening that investigators found a gun in the car of a man who died in an officer-involved shooting Monday morning.
Miami Beach police said a Berretta 92F semiautomatic pistol was discovered in the 2006 blue Hyundai driven by Raymond Herisse, 22, on the morning of the shooting.

Herisse died after about 12 police officers fired shots at his car, according to police.
Herisse's best friend, Jeff Estifort, was left crying, shocked and confused. He said he could not comprehend why his friend was dead.
"They killed him for no reason," Estifort said.
Estifort said his best friend did not drive, did not own a car and did not have a gun.
But Miami Beach police said Herisse was driving a car just before 4 a.m. on Collins Avenue for three blocks, hitting officers and firing shots. To stop it, the officers shot at the car, killing Herisse.
"There was multiple attempts to hurt police officers, hurt pedestrians, and we're very fortunate that we don't have an officer seriously injured or killed at this point," said Miami Beach Police Chief Carlos Noriega.
Police still have not said what prompted the incident.
"I don't have the information what the original call was for," Detective Juan Sanchez said.
Four bystanders and three police officers also were injured in the incident. No further details about their injuries or conditions were available.
