Miami-Dade police: Video shows Alberto Morales leave Walmart after stabbing Det Jaime Pardinas
Police released a photo of a tattoo on a man accused of stabbing a Miami-Dade police officer while escaping from custody in Texas.
The tattoo on Alberto Morales depicts a Native American riding a horse.
Police say Morales, 42, stabbed Miami-Dade police detective Jaime Pardinas four times while they stopped at the Walmart in suburban Dallas on Monday night so another detective, David Carrero, could use the restroom.
Dark-colored video showed Morales outside the store as he walked away from a grey sport-utility vehicle.
Pardinas, 54, remained hospitalized at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas after undergoing surgery. He is talking and is expected recover, Miami-Dade police sergeant Patricia Bimonte.
In 911 calls released Wednesday, Pardinas was heard breathing heavily as he told a dispatcher what happened.
The Texas Dept. of Public Safety is offering a $10,000 for information leading to Morales' arrest.
Public records show Morales, a convicted sex offender, has charges dating back to 1994.
