Resolution passed to restrict flavored tobacco sales in Lauderhill
Marketing of flavored tobacco also restricted
Commissioners in the City of Lauderhill have passed a resolution that will restrict the sale and marketing of flavored tobacco products in the city.
“I commend the City of Lauderhill for their efforts to protect the health of their residents,” said Paula Thaqi, Director of the Broward County Health Department.
The resolution was first adopted on January 9, 2012, through the efforts of the Students Working Against Tobacco program at the Broward County Health Department and the Tobacco-Free Partnership of Broward County.
Flavored tobacco includes snuff flour, plug and twist tobacco, chewing tobacco, snus, cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and even blunt wraps.
