Parton's mail truck was stolen, but police found it abandoned a few blocks from the shooting scene. Investigators will not say whether anything was stolen from the truck.

"It doesn't make any sense. He had a smile for everyone," said Nina Parton, Bruce Parton's daughter.

Both of Parton's children attended a Tuesday morning news conference at the U.S. Postal Inspection Service office in Miramar. Enrique Gutierrez, the inspector in charge, strongly urged anyone with information about Parton's death to step forward.

"We believe several people have information regarding this murder," Gutierrez said.

The reward for information leading to an arrest in the case has increased to $100,000. Investigators with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service plan to distribute reward fliers Tuesday afternoon along Parton's former route.
