Robin Roberts kicked off Monday's Good Morning America with a big announcement.
The GMA anchor joined her co-anchors live in a very special announcement about her recovery from a bone marrow transplant.
Roberts says her recovery is going well and that her doctors said that she can begin the process of returning to work as soon as next week.
Roberts jokingly said she began Monday by setting her alarm for 4 a.m.
The anchor hasn't been live in her usual anchor chair next to George Stephanopoulos since August.
Roberts says she'll return to the GMA studio next week, but will not return on-air immediately.
"I have a date in mind that's very personal and important to me, but I'll listen to what my doctors say," Roberts said.
