Police said he was shot after argument over money

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -

A South Florida man is lucky to be alive after being shot several times.

Boynton Beach Police said they responded to a shooting call on Northeast 1st Street on Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found that Kevin Denard Hunter, 27, had been shot several times.

Witnesses told police they saw Hunter arguing with Jake Varshain Pinkney, 32, over money and that Pinkney suddenly pulled a gun from his pocket and shot Hunter several times.

Hunter was shot in the abdomen, thigh, calf and hand.

Paramedics transported Hunter to the Delray Beach Trauma Center where he is listed in stable condition.

Police arrested Pinkney and transported him to the Palm Beach County Jail.

He is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
