SOBE Wine & Food Festival hosted Burger Bash
Top chefs competed in a burger cook-off
Top chefs from across the country faced off at the Amstel Light Burger Bash, at this year's South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Friday night.
The chefs were putting their own twist on an American classic: the burger.
Chef Michael Symon was in attendance. He won the last three times. But he was facing fierce competition from New York Chef Josh Capon. Capon is also a three time Burger Bash winner.
"We are the belt, we are the trophies, we are the hardware," Capon said.
"Rumble in the jungle, baby, rumble in the beach, me versus Symon, we are both tied at three apiece," Capon added.
"It's the best chefs in the country, everyone wants to win," Symon said. "I'm just happy to be here."
Renowned celebrity chef Rachael Ray was the host of the cook-off.
"It's a tough year," Ray said.
Chef Symon and Chef Capon ended up being tied for second place. It was 'The Sandwich King' Jeff Mauro who was crowned the winner.
"I'm just happy to be at the festival," said Capon.
