POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -

Two suspects were arrested Monday night after a silent alarm alerted authorities to a break-in at a Pompano Beach elementary school.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said intruders used a hammer to smash a glass door at Cypress Elementary School about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The burglars went into one of the rooms and stole a 46-inch television, a computer monitor, a keyboard and a DVD player, BSO said.

A silent alarm summoned deputies to the school, and they established a perimeter and began a search.

A K-9 officer tracked the suspects and led deputies to the nearby Lyons Park neighborhood. BSO said deputies found some stolen property along the way.

The suspects, Anthony Peck, 18, and Demetrius Gibson, 20, both of Pompano Beach, were found hiding in some bushes in the fenced-in back yard of a home, BSO said.

Peck and Gibson were arrested on charges of burglary and grand theft.
