Scott to address editors at AP's planning meeting
Governor, legislative leaders to address newspaper editors at AP's annual legislative session
Journalists from across Florida are visiting the capital city to hear from Gov. Rick Scott and the new leaders in the Florida Legislature on their expectations for the upcoming legislative session.
Senate President Don Gaetz and House Speaker Will Weatherford will join Scott and the media Wednesday at The Associated Press' 19th annual planning meeting. Scott's appearance at 9 a.m. will kick things off at the AP meeting.
Roughly 100 editors, writers and broadcast journalists attend the meeting each January where they have an opportunity to question the state's top lawmakers about issues they'll face when the session begins in early March.
Journalists will also have an opportunity to question some of the state's top experts on elections issues and the problems that cropped up in last November's presidential cycle.
