Snake bites 16-year-old boy

A 16-year-old boy was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital after he was bitten by a snake.
It happened in the 5000 block of Southwest 172nd Avenue in Miramar about 3:15 p.m. Friday.
The boy was walking home from school when he dropped his shirt, according to Miramar Fire Rescue. When he went to pick it up, a snake bit him.
It's unclear what kind of snake bit the child.
The boy's condition was not immediately released.
