South Florida blogger reviews spring fashion trends

Local 10's MJ Acosta checks in with fashion blogger Kelly Saks

AVENTURA, Fla. – No matter how much you love to shop, updating your wardrobe for a new season can be overwhelming. That's where South Florida fashion blogger Kelly Saks can help.

She joined Local 10's MJ Acosta on a trip to Bloomingdale's to sort through the top trends of Spring 2013.

According to Saks, color isn't everything this season. Instead, black and white seem to be "in." Lucky for you, black and white aren't just classic and chic, clothing in these colors can often be dressed up or down, so you can wear an outfit to work and then to date night later on!

Another necessity: accessories.

"Accessories are always key to a great outfit," Saks said. "If you put together a classic white dress shirt with a little black pencil skirt, pop it with a neon heel or fabulous hot pink handbag!"

For Saks, neon is here to stay-- at least for now. She says you shouldn't be afraid to add some color into your wardrobe, but be sure to keep the accessories simple.

"Right now you're going to see a lot of embellishments, a lot of rhinestones and also sequins during day time. It's okay to sparkle during the day I say!"

As with every style season-- balance is key. Don't wear too many flashy things at once, or you could end up looking like a walking disco ball!

Saks also had some good news for people who like to be comfortable and stylish.

"Another big trend for the spring is chic athletic wear, or as I like to call it: Sporty Spice!"

Wearing your sweats out in public is finally in style! Saks suggests some destroyed denim and a baseball cap, but reminds you to add those chic accessories too!
