South Florida celebrates Jamaica's independence

MIAMI -

South Florida is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jamaica's independence from the United Kingdom on Monday with several events.

In Downtown Miami, the Consulate General of Jamaica is lighting the Freedom Tower as Jamaica's national colors.

In Miramar, South Florida Jamaica Flag Day is being held at the Miramar Town Center from 4 - 8 p.m. The flag raising ceremony begins at 6 p.m.
