The gunman escaped, and police said several witnesses also ran away before officers arrived.
One witness did dial 911, and police released the call Thursday afternoon.
"I got a murder. I got somebody who's been, who's fallen to the ground. I don't know what happened, but I was walking by, and I seen him on the ground," said a caller. "The guy's been shot."
The caller can then be heard praying, possibly giving the man last rites.
Surveillance images released by Lauderhill police show two suspects, both men. One wore a white T-shirt, a dark cap and black or dark blue jeans and had a stocky build. The other wore a green shirt with white stripes on the sleeves, a dark hat and dark pants and had a thin build.
Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
