Screeners for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) stopped a loaded gun from making it onto a flight from South Florida in the last week.
The TSA said the screeners found the loaded .45 handgun in a carry-on bag at Miami International Airport on Jan. 6.
No guns were seized at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport last week.
In total, the TSA found 33 guns in carry-on baggage across the country in the last week. Of those 33 guns, 25 were loaded.
In related airport security news, the TSA reported that a passenger at MIA asked a gate agent last week: "What if I have a bomb?"
