MIAMI -

A substitute Miami-Dade County teacher who was removed from the classroom because of his prior work in the gay pornography industry said he has been cleared and allowed to return to work.

Shawn Loftis was working at Nautilus Middle School when the principal discovered his past work on his website and photos online.

The principal cited a conduct policy and prevented Loftis from returning.

On Friday, Loftis said the education commission reversed that.

Loftis argued he wanted to guide students away from making the same mistakes he made, and that what he did was not illegal.
