HIALEAH, Fla. -

A violent and deadly crash in Hialeah claims the life of one teen and sends four others to the hospital.

The teens who survived were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center.

The crash happened at West 43rd Street and 2nd Avenue, not far from Hialeah High School, about 3 p.m. Wednesday

A yellow Chevrolet Cobalt had slammed into a tree. It's unclear what caused the crash, though witnesses told Local 10 the car appeared to be speeding before it crashed. Manny Garcia was driving along the same street and saw it all happen.

"The driver lost control and started swerving this whole street, and he ended up crashing into a tree, ran that over. It hit a palm tree and from there it flipped," Garcia told Local 10.

Garcia and his neighbors jumped into action before police and fire rescue arrived.

"About 7 or 8 of us flipped the car and when we open the car, the drive had gotten out but the passenger was in the car," said Garcia.

Three of the teens were able to walk away from the car without help.

The identity of the victim was not immediately released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
