The opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says more than 200 people, including women and children, have been killed in fighting in the city of Homs early Saturday. The U.N. Security Council is preparing to meet again Saturday to discuss a new draft resolution to help end the ongoing bloodshed.
Egypt-Soccer-Deaths
Anti-government protests in Egypt spiraled into chaos and violence for a second day Friday. Angry crowds clashed with security forces, leaving five people dead and more than a thousand injured. At the root of the protest is anger over the deadly football riot in Port Said this week that left almost 80 fans dead.
FBI-Scotland-Yard-Hacked
The loose organization of hackers known as Anonymous released a recording of a telephone call between the FBI and Scotland Yard today that it said it secretly recorded. The group posted the 16-minute conference call on one of its websites. The FBI and Scotland Yard acknowledged that the released recording was intended to be a private conversation, but blamed no particular group.

Most of the remaining Republican presidential candidates spent the day before the Nevada caucuses barnstorming across the state. Tomorrow's first-in-the-West presidential caucus is considered a critical race in the nominating process. Mitt Romney is leading in the polls.
Colorado-Winter-Storm
Winter storm warnings are posted in Colorado as a major snowstorm sweeps through the state, closing roads, cancelling flights, and shutting down schools and businesses. It's expected to hang around until sometime Saturday before moving into Nebraska.
