Santorum-National-Poll

A new Gallup poll of resgistered Republicans shows Rick Santorum leading rival Mitt Romney by 10 percentage points - 36% to 26%. Former House Speaker Gingrich had the support of 13% of Republicans while 11% backed Congressman Ron Paul.

Oil-Prices

Oil prices continue their rise today as Iran cut exports to Britain and France. There is also concern that higher gas prices could soon follow. Currently, the nationwide average of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.55.

Mexico-Oil

The United States and Mexico agreed Monday to work cooperatively on exploring and developing oil and natural gas reserves along their maritime border. The agreement requires approval by the U.S. and Mexican national legislatures. The area, roughly the size of Delaware, is estimated to contain up to 172 million barrels of oil and 304 billion cubic feet of natural gas.

Yemen-Explosions

A series of explosions rocked the Yemeni port city of Aden ahead of a presidential election Tuesday. The blasts took place in separate neighborhoods late Monday, only hours before polls were set to open. According to security officials there were no injuries reported.

Egypt-NGOs

Three U.S. Senators are in Cairo meeting with Egyptian military and political leaders over the issue of 19 Americans facing charges in a crackdown on nongovernmental organizations. The Americans are among 43 people accused in a case involving foreign funding. John McCain is joined on the visit by Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman.
