Police in Miami say thieves broke through a wall in a neighboring store to steal the safe and surveillance equipment from the Caribe Restaurant overnight.
According to investigators, the burglary happened between midnight and 4 a.m. and the alarm did not go off.
The owner arrived at the restaurant, located at 7173 Flagler Street, to find the safe was missing Monday morning. The restaurant's surveillance equipment was also missing.

"They took the safe, the camera system and the computer," said owner Juan Alvarado.
Police say the safe was bolted to the floor, but the crooks managed to take it, along with approximately $35,000 - $40,000 in cash.
Detectives say the thieves knew exactly where to cut through the wall and how to disable the surveillance system at the restaurant. The store's owner says he is confident the break-in was an inside job.
"I wouldn't doubt it. What are the chances that they broke through right where the safe was sitting," said Alvarado.
The restaurant has reportedly been burglarized in the past.
