Third death in Alligator Alley crash
Another child dies after Alligator Alley crash; mother and sister had died earlier
NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say another little girl has died following a southwest Florida crash on Alligator Alley that had already claimed the child's mother and sister.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 4-year-old Madison Douglas was taken off life support Tuesday evening.
FHP says a car driven by Madison's mother, 33-year-old Cecilia Renee Douglas, struck another car Monday morning. Douglas veered off the road, went through a fence and into a canal. FHP says she was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Another child in the car, 3-year-old Rylee Douglas, died just before midnight Monday.
Three passengers in the second car also received serious and minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
