Three more fast food chains robbed in Sunrise, Oakland Park
Crooks hit three fast food restaurants in Broward County
Police in Broward County are trying to track down the crooks responsible for trying to rob three fast food chains early Friday morning.
Investigators say at least two men in a red Dodge Neon pulled up to the drive-thru of all three restaurants. One man would stay in the car, while another would get out of the car and hold the drive-thru employee at gun point, demanding cash.
"They tell us about this in our training sessions, to watch out for people hanging around, trying to case the place," said one McDonald's employee who did not want to be identified.
The first hold-up Friday morning happened at the McDonald's along West Oakland Park Boulevard about 3:55 a.m.
"Wearing the same clothing same description comes up to the window," said Hailey.
When the robber approached the window, police say the clerk slammed it shut and ran. Surveillance video showed the robber running towards the Neon after the clerk shut the window.
"Both the vehicle and the suspect fled without getting anything from the store here," said Hailey.

The second robbery happened at a Burger King restaurant along East Sunrise Boulevard about 4:45 a.m.
"Demanded cash from the clerk of the store, reached in and grabbed her arm," said Rodney Hailey with the Sunrise Police Department.
The men got away with a register drawer full of cash.
A McDonald's in Sunrise was almost robbed Friday, as well, about 5 a.m. In this case, police say the clerk also slammed the window shut and hid. The thieves were gone before police arrived. Police released surveillance video of the armed robber and his getaway car.

"Very dangerous. I mean, they're brandishing their firearm as they come up to the clerks," said Hailey. "He grabbed one, so he's already using force against the clerks."
Both robbers are described as being in their mid 20's. The first was heavyset and last seen wearing a plaid shirt, blue shorts, flip flops, and a red bandana covering part of his face. The driver had short hair and was wearing a white tank top.
The Dodge Neon had tints and was missing the front driver's side hub cap.
Three other fast food restaurants have been robbed in Broward County since June of this year. These restaurants are located in Oakland Park, Hollywood, and Dania Beach.
No arrests have been made in any of these cases.
Anyone with information on the robberies should call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
