The U.S. Coast Guard in Miami is assisting in the search for a 28-foot boat that hasn't been heard from since setting sail for Utila Island in Honduras.
The boat was carrying five Hondurans, a Canadian and two Americans when it left the western end of Roatan, Honduras, on Saturday afternoon. The U.S. Coast Guard says a family member of the U.S. citizens reported the boat missing.
Coast Guard spokesman Game Somma says the search had covered more than 596 square miles by Tuesday. They've seen no signs of the missing vessel.
The search is continuing Wednesday.
The Honduran navy is also assisting in the search.
