“The person has a nose that is clearly off kilter, that is sort of shifted to one side and then tipped as well," said Steinberg. “He was missing the majority of his teeth and other ones were rotted here in the front.”
Steinberg said the man had certain traits that are typical of white or European ancestry.
“He’s most likely a Hispanic male," said Steinberg.
The sketch gave Gallagher hope, and he began hitting homeless camps, hoping someone recognized the man. To his surprise, one man knew the victim.
"Do you remember his name? His nombre?" asked Gallagher.
The man told Gallagher the victim's name was Adasio Longjino.
It's unclear if that's the victim's name. Gallagher believes solving the case will come down to someone remembering the victim using one of the crisp, $100 bills.
The victim is described as between 45 and 50-years-old, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He also had a fractured left ankle, so he possibly walked with a limp.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Miami-Dade police at 305-4-POLICE.
