MIAMI (AP) — The president of Univision is stepping down to join NBCUniversal as an executive vice president.
NBCUniversal announced Friday that Cesar Conde will focus on business development, strategic priorities and special projects in his new role. He will also oversee the company's international group.
Conde has been president of the nation's largest Spanish-language media company since 2009.
He leaves just nearly a month before the TV launch of Fusion, Univision's English-language joint venture with Disney's ABC News.
While at Univision, Conde helped spearhead several campaigns to increase awareness about Hispanic health and education issues.
Prior to Univision, he was a White House Fellow for former Secretary of State Colin Powell from 2002-2003.
