LAUDERHILL, Fla. -

Lauderhill police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a 17-year-old on West Oakland Park Boulevard, shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the teen was exiting a county bus that stopped along Oakland Park Boulevard just west of northwest 55th Avenue. When he was attempting to cross the street, witnesses said a black car traveling westbound struck him.

It was not immediately known if he was in the crosswalk when he was struck.

He was taken to Broward General Medical Center as a trauma alert. His condition was not immediately known as of late Tuesday.
Police said the driver, who fled the scene, was in a black Nissan Altima or Infiniti sedan.
