MIAMI -

Surveillance video captures two thieves breaking into Caribe Cafe in Miami.

Early Monday, two men were caught on surveillance camera breaking a hole through a wall in a neighboring store to steal the safe and surveillance equipment. The burglars left the restaurant in a silver Honda Civic.

Owner Juan Alvarado arrived Monday to find the safe and surveillance equipment missing. He said after watching the tape several times, he believes one of the burglars works for him.

Police say the safe was bolted to the floor, but the crooks managed to take it, along with approximately $35,000 - $40,000 in cash.

Detectives say the thieves knew exactly where to cut through the wall and how to disable the surveillance system at the restaurant.
